Sports Tribes ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Sports Tribes mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the App.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
- Name and display name — used to identify you within the App and display on your profile.
- Email address — used for account creation, authentication, and communication about your account.
- Password — stored securely and used for authentication. We do not have access to your plaintext password.
Profile Information
- Profile photo — uploaded voluntarily to personalize your profile.
- Bio — a short text description you provide about yourself.
Location Data
- Precise location — used only when you search for coaches near you. Location is accessed only while using the App and only when you grant permission. You can deny location access and still use the App for remote coaching features.
User Content
- Messages — text and image messages sent through the in-app chat feature.
- Photos — images shared in chat conversations or used as your profile picture.
- Reviews and ratings — feedback you provide about coaches.
- Coach profiles — information you provide when registering as a coach, including sport, bio, and pricing.
Booking Information
- Session bookings — dates, times, and details of coaching sessions you book or offer.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Display your profile to other users
- Enable you to search for and connect with coaches
- Facilitate messaging between users
- Process and manage coaching session bookings
- Send push notifications about messages, bookings, and updates
- Improve and maintain the App
3. How We Store Your Information
Your data is stored securely using Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure, including:
- AWS Cognito — for secure authentication and user management
- AWS DynamoDB — for storing user data, messages, and bookings
- AWS S3 — for storing images (profile photos and chat images)
All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Images are stored with access-controlled presigned URLs.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services for authentication only:
- Google Sign-In — if you choose to sign in with your Google account. We receive your name and email address from Google.
- Facebook Login — if you choose to sign in with your Facebook account. We receive your name and email address from Facebook.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
We do not use your data for cross-app tracking or targeted advertising.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Messages and chat history are stored to provide you with conversation history. You can delete individual messages within the App.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data — view your profile, messages, and bookings within the App.
- Update your data — edit your profile, display name, bio, and photo at any time.
- Delete your account — use the "Delete My Account" feature in the App (Account → Account Actions → Delete My Account). This permanently removes your account and associated data.
- Request data deletion — contact us at the email below to request deletion of specific data.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated policy within the App or on this page. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when the policy was last revised.
